Accomplishments & Future Goals

N2Health is a tax-exempt nonprofit, based in Warsaw, Virginia. The organization was founded in 2014 by a group of community stakeholders, led by Dr. Laverne Morrow Carter and dedicated to improving health factors and outcomes in the Northern Neck Region. Our accomplishments are:

Completed a one-year project for engagement of faith organizations to increase cancer screening among rural African Americans. (2016)

Identified health literacy issues and solutions for multiple chronic conditions including mental health as a partner on a PCORI funded project . (2018-2019)

Served as a partner on a national project – LYFE on Saturdays to reduce Teen Pregnancies in the Northern Neck. (2020)

 

Received and successfully completed  a $100,000 PCORI Engagement Award to convene patients, organizational leaders and policy makers to discuss issues and solutions. (11/2020 -10/2021)

Received a $250,00 PCORI Capacity Engagement Award to build a collaborative of stakeholders focused on mitigating mental health issues in rural communities. (2022)

Formed viable relationships with three academic centers to engage in future CER projects that focus on rural patients. (2019 – present

Future Plans

To establish a plan for addressing the social determinants of health in our region.

To explore structural racism in the Northern Neck Education system and use a communitywide planning process to develop solutions.

 

To partner with foundations and academic institutions to implement community-based interventions in the Northern Neck.

To plan and conduct health promotion events in the Northern Neck. 3. To explore the need and feasibility of a federally qualified health center for the Northern Neck region.
