Our Impact
About 30% of people in the Northern Neck are over 65—that’s almost double the national average!
Because of this, a big part of N2Health’s work focuses on promoting health equity for older adults in the area.
But we’re not stopping there! We’ve expanded our programs to support rural communities across the U.S.
Here are a few programs that have helped us work toward better health equity for rural America:

Community Health Education
We’re all about meeting people where they are—both physically and in their health journeys. Bringing health education straight to our rural communities is a big part of what we do. Some of our past events include:
- Ask-the-Pharmacist
- COVID-19 and the African American Community
- Vaccine Hesitancy
- Cancer Prevention and Early Detection
We center sharing knowledge and making health information accessible and relevant.
Research & Evaluation
We’re all about improving the lives of our rural community members with programs that are backed by solid evidence. But we don’t stop there—we keep a close eye on how things are going and make changes as needed to ensure we’re making a real difference. Here’s how we’ve put this into practice:
- Conducted community needs assessments to design programs that truly fit the community’s health priorities.
- Received funding from PCORI to train community leaders in Virginia and Arkansas in comparative effectiveness research to identify the best solutions to inadequate mental health services in our communities.
- Teamed up with academic experts to create strong evaluation tools for our programs.
We’re all about staying focused on what works and making a meaningful impact.

Expanding Access to Critical Health Services
Expanding access to quality, vital health services is paramount to our work. With funding from the Virginia Department of Health, we have worked with local health providers and health departments to bring primary health prevention services like vaccines and vital sign monitoring to the community.
